Spring 2026 Class Registration

Important Info for ALL Classes:
This semester, you will mark your preferences for classes based on interest and eligibility. You will do so on our registration form. Once you’ve marked your preferences, a member of the CO_LAB staff will confirm your placement within ten days. Please keep your eyes open for emails from programs@colabtheatergroup.com. Thanks!
A $100 deposit is required to secure your place in class, refundable at the end of the semester.
Our Spring Showcase will be on Saturday, May 9th with a mandatory rehearsal on Friday, May 8th; participants in each ensemble, except Virtual Ensemble, will be required to attend the Showcase. Please save the dates!

Act I Classes
ACT ONE classes are semester-long, ensemble-focused, and are an introduction to theater and CO/LAB’s unique style of collaborative theater-making.
Youth Ensemble Theater
Sundays from 10:30am-12:00pm
ART/NY Manhattan (520 8th Ave, New York, NY)
This class is open to NEW and RETURNING participants ages 10-17.
ACT ONE classes are semester-long, ensemble-focused, and are an introduction to theater and CO_LAB’s unique style of collaborative theater-making.
In YOUTH ENSEMBLE THEATER, participants will work on developing basic theater skills, utilizing both physical and vocal techniques. The class will use theater exercises to explore character, environment, improv, and storytelling and work as an ensemble to devise original work.
Our first class will be on Sunday, February 8th.
*No class on Sunday, April 5th.
Musical Theater Ensemble
Tuesdays from 4:30-6pm
ART/NY Manhattan (520 8th Ave, New York, NY).
This class is open to NEW and RETURNING participants ages 18+.
ACT ONE classes are semester-long, ensemble-focused, and are an introduction to theater and CO_LAB’s unique style of collaborative theater-making.
In MUSICAL THEATER ENSEMBLE, you'll explore the vocal techniques, movement skills and character development needed to shine in a Musical Theater Production! This class will offer a thorough exploration of singing, dancing, and acting, providing a solid foundation in musical theater performance.
Our first class will be on Tuesday, February 10th.
*No class on Tuesday, April 7th
Act II Classes
ACT TWO classes are semester-long classes for returning participants, themed around a specific skill or style, and focused on deepening the skills introduced in Act One.
Virtual Ensemble
Wednesdays from 6:30-8pm on Zoom!
This class is open to participants ages 18+ who have previously completed at least two semesters of Act One (Ensemble Theater).
ACT TWO classes are semester-long classes for returning participants, themed around a specific skill or style, and focused on deepening the skills introduced in Act One.
The focus of our VIRTUAL offering will be finalized in mid-January. Stay tuned for more details!
Please note: Participants in the Virtual class will not physically perform in the Spring Showcase but the class will create work that will be shared with our community!
Our first class will be on Wednesday, February 11th.

Directing Lab
Wednesdays from 6:30-8:00pm
ART/NY Brooklyn (138 South Oxford St, Brooklyn NY).
This class is open to RETURNING participants ages 18+.
ACT TWO classes are semester-long classes for returning participants, themed around a specific skill or style, and focused on deepening the skills introduced in Act One.
In Directing Lab, actors in our will explore the fundamentals of directing, including text analysis, staging, and collaboration with actors. Through hands-on exercises and scene work, the class will focus on developing a director's vision, communication skills, and leadership techniques to bring stories to life on stage..
Our first class will be on Wednesday, February 11th.

Physical Theater: Character & Mask
Saturdays from 1:30-3:00pm
ART/NY Manhattan (520 8th Ave, Manhattan NY).
This class is open to RETURNING participants ages 18+.
ACT TWO classes are semester-long classes for returning participants, themed around a specific skill or style, and focused on deepening the skills introduced in Act One.
In Physical Theater: Character & Mask, participants will explore physical comedy and ensemble-based character and mask work. We’ll use theater exercises to investigate classic stock characters, develop bold physical and comedic impulses, and practice improvising within structured scenarios. Together, actors will bring these timeless characters to life while devising playful, collaborative scenes rooted in humor, rhythm, and storytelling.
Our first class will be on Saturday, February 7th.
